Jerry Mead Awards

Jerry Mead was a curmudgeon and wine-writer, originally from California and later in life from Nevada.  One of his pet peeves was the availability of good, inexpensive wines.  He likened this to the proverbial 5-cent cigar.  In his honor, we have for years promulgated the “Jerry Mead Awards” for those Gold Medal winning wines that are considered “value” or “bargain” wines.  This year’s list are for wines that have a suggested retail price of less than $15.
